I think the octatrack would give you something a bit different vs the maschine set up, while the MPC live will more likely give you a direct comparison to maschine and from what I have heard people who do this comparison usually quickly bail on the MPC live and run back to maschine.

Switch on the Octatrack while keeping the [YES] button (˜) pressed. The ˜˚˛ screen will state that demo mode is being entered. If the Octatrack is in demo mode, switched o˝ and then booted with a Compact Flash card inserted, you will have to mount a set and a project. Please see the Octatrack manual p. 16 for more info how to do this.

Hi there. I’ve been using the Ocatrack to trigger loops of songs for live performances lately but I"m now wondering if it can be used to DJ live without using decks in the audio ins. Tracks seem to go a bit weird when you’re not in the same tempo as them. I was wondering if anyone uses the Ocatrack this way and what experiences they’ve had. Thanks!

If the same set is being used by two Octatracks both units will load the same sample content and will settings wise be exactly the same, given both units have the same project loaded and the same OS version installed.
